Late season NDVI images still have value the "green" areas weed patches

The myFS Agronomy app delivers regular satellite imagery throughout the growing season, and its value continues right through late season. One of the most insightful tools is the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) layer, which highlights crop vigor using a simple red-to-green legend—from poor to strong growth.
As crops mature, green areas fade to red, showing where plants are reaching maturity. In soybeans, however, small pockets of green late in the season are often weedy patches, providing a clear indicator that a fall weed control program may be needed.
Fall is one of the best times to tackle winter annuals and perennials. Controlling weeds now means fewer and smaller weeds to manage in spring—when herbicides are at their most effective.
Tip: Herbicides work best on small weeds and at lower densities, so fall control sets you up for a cleaner start next year.
