AGRIS Co-operative is proud to announce a $20,000 donation to Harvest Hands Canada, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to those in need. This significant contribution, presented at our board meeting on December 18th, will provide the equivalent of 60,000 meals to families and individuals across Southwestern Ontario.
Harvest Hands serves a network of more than 300 food banks, missions, shelters, and seniors’ homes from Windsor to Oshawa. Over 160 volunteers work each week to help prevent food waste and eradicate food insecurity in our most vulnerable communities.
“Giving back to the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do at AGRIS Co-operative,” said Board President Allan Parks. “Partnering with Harvest Hands allows us to extend that impact, helping to fight hunger and strengthen our local communities.”
This marks the third year that AGRIS Co-operative has chosen to support Harvest Hands, underscoring our commitment to making a difference in the fight against food insecurity.
